CCDE provides a range of services for families and their children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It is our belief that all children, including those with autism related disorders should be viewed in terms of their strengths and capabilities for learning. Children with and without disabilities benefit from belonging to a group of one’s peers and here, enjoy full membership in our community. It is in childhood that children learn to resolve conflict, compromise for the better good, and to care for one another. Tolerance for individual differences is developed and celebrated, while diverse learners are supported in order to attain their maximum potential. Empirically-based strategies are employed to target core deficits, and to enhance the acquisition, maintenance, and generalization of skills across a range of settings, including the child’s home. Programming is individualized to meet the unique needs of each child and his/her family.

CCDE embraces the following goals:

  1. To provide affordable and accessible educational services for children with autism spectrum disorders in fully inclusive classrooms without 1:1 assistance.
  2. To support the families of children with ASD by providing a range of support and mental health services.
  3. To promote community awareness and collaboration in the fight to minimize the impact of ASD on the individual’s successful membership in the community.
