From our Students

CCDE and Oakstone Academy embrace a climate of respect and acceptance for others. Including typically developing peers in as many aspects of our program as possible allows us to provide many age appropriate social experiences. Even our programs that do not involve typically developing peers focuses on self management and the development of social competency.

From Our Peers

“Oakstone Newby”

Going to a new school,

You think I’d be afraid.

But from all the hype I’ve heard,

I’m looking forward to this grade.

They’ll listen to my interests

And understand what’s hard,

Maybe finding a better school

Didn’t take searching so far.

Bullying is minimized

And support is put on high.

I think that I might finally soar,

Instead of simply fly.

-L, eighth grade student

“Being at Oakstone is such a wonderful experience. My classmates are all unique and they teach me things that I never would have learned in a textbook, I feel wanted in the school and it makes me happy to see others wanted too.”

-R, eighth grade student

From Our Children and Adolescents with ASD

“This is a place where the teachers really do care.”

-M, tenth grade student

“The teachers are wonderful and you really get a one-on-one experience with them.”

-J, ninth grade student

“I finally feel like my teachers know me and care.”

-C, tenth grade student

“This is a place where people respect each other. There is no bullying tolerated.”

-Z, tenth grade student
